2016 Chateau Saintayme

Winemaker’s Notes

Chateau Saintayme made by Denis Durantou uses grapes from small vineyard of 35 year old
Merlot vines at Saint Etienne de Lisse in Saint Emillion. The grapes are hand harvested mid
October and aged in 30% new French Oak.

Tasting notes

This wine is medium to full bodied and is sure to please. Garnet purple in colour it has notes of black
currants and plums, violets and tobacco. The palate is juicy and layered with plums and black berries,
violets, and toasty cedar with structured tannins giving way to a nice long finish. It is ready to drink now
but will definitely benefit some aging.

Serving Suggestion

Pair with a classic steak frites.
