Winemaker’s Notes

 

This single vineyard wine comes from the Rubis Family Vineyard on the Naramata Bench. This is a young
vineyard that is gently sloping and west facing. It produces a bright, fruit forward Pinot Noir that is very
indicative of the Naramata Bench. The grapes were hand-picked, de-stemmed, but not crushed and then processed immediately. The care taken in the vineyard continues in the winery. The grapes went directly into small half ton fermenters where they were cold soaked for five days, before a wild ferment commenced. In total the grapes spent about 21 days on skins before being pressed. The wine was aged in French Oak, 30% new, for 10 months before being bottled.

Tasting notes

An elegant wine with aromas of strawberry, red cherry and vanilla, along with flavours of cranberry, red
plum and leather. This is a lighter bodied Pinot Noir, with excellent acidity and supple tannins.
